The performance culminates with an original music setting of “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” composed by Harpist/Instructor, Winifred Garret and narrated by actor paul Garrett.

    Comprised of 18-20 members, the Choraleers are a subset of the Durham Chorale. Our musical repertoire includes swing, classical, pop and jazz selections. As an auditioned small group, we concentrate on various vocal techniques not possible in a large choral settng. The choraleers perform 4-5 songs at the Durham Chorale concert in the fall and spring.

    Michael is a singer and songwriter from NC who picked up the bass and guitar at age 17. He currently teaches songwriting, guitar and piano at Dunn School of Music in Dunn, NC.

    Emily Musolino is a songwriter, vocalist and performer from Durham, North Carolina. Her music is an eclectic mix of smoky jazz and acoustic blues from an old soul. The raw passion in her sound resonates across all genres, straight into the heart of the listener. Armed with a degree from the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Emily is also a talented producer, engineer. and owner/entrepreneur at Blue Moose Recording Studios, using state of the art technology and a remarkable ear to produce world class recordings of all styles of music.

Durham Jazz performs for community events such as concerts in the park, community festivals and street fairs.     become widely known for his captivating solo performances, using a loop station to
    accompany himself, and a varied cast of guitars to craft the exact combination of tones
    he wants, often layering up to six guitars in a single song. Justin has also made a name for himself with his unique style with the cigar box guitar, offering frequent festival performances and workshops.

In addition to year-round classes, Encore offers dance camps, master classes, birthday parties, and many performance opportunities to our many dancers who range in age from 2 ½ years old all the way through tour senior citizens.

    The Durham Community Concert Band was established in 1984 and is made up of members of all ages and levels of musical talent.     Faulkner's Dance & Gymnastics

    A strong commitment to dancers and gymnasts and their families has earned Faulkner’s Dance and Gymnastics an outstanding reputation in Hillsborough. Faulkner’s is directed by Sue, Mike and Mich Faulkner. Some of our past gymnasts have become United States of America Gymnastics Association judges, college cheerleaders and dancers. Others have performed on television and in movies. Since 1980, students have competed in dance and gymnastic competitions and have won numerous regional and national awards.

    Freylach Time! Is one of the most popular Klezmer bands in NC. The instrumental trio includes Riki Friedman (clarinets), Mike McQuown (accordion), and Hal Schnee (string bass) and often joined by Cantor Karen Kumin on vocals. This group plays a traditional Klezmer style with lively dances, inspiring instruments and favorite songs from the Yiddish theatre.

    The Little River Cloggers of Bahama, North Carolina formed in 1995. The group specializes in the traditional dance forms of the Southern Appalachian Mountains as well as exploring more contemporary trends in clog dancing. The group participates in fundraising events such as Angels Among Us Walk for Brain Tumor Research as well as dancing competitively.

    The music of the band can be labeled anywhere from folk to blues to rock. Deemed “Rock and Roll with Acoustic Soul”, every song is full of spirit. Jo Gore spent a good portion of her childhood singing at Spring Hill Baptist, located in Columbus County, North Carolina. Her heavy vibrato, improvisation, and interpretation of melody is quite reminiscent of the great vocal jazz and gospel stylists of the 50s and 60s. Some describe the music as Rosette Thorpe meets John Lennon.

    Eric and the DiMarzios is a folk rock band out of Chapel Hill, NC. Their sound offers a blend of bluegrass rhythms, rock arrangements and folk melodies that has attracted fans of all ages. Since forming in 2010, the band has been named UNC’s Favorite Local Band.

    Natyarpana School of Dance & Music

    The Natyarpana School of Dance & Music was founded by Ramya Kapadia to add to the rich cultural environment of Durham, NC. The parent school, the Natyarpana Dance Company in Madison and Brookfield, WI, was founded in 2003 by Guru Kripa Baskaran. “Natyarpana”, the institution, aims to promote the rich cultural heritage of India through classical music and dance.

    Jazz-influenced rock/pop. Serious rhythm to move the body, with an intelligence of melody and composition found primarily in jazz. Music that is challenging, alive and original. Add to that fresh lyrics from a real-life perspective that merge seamlessly with the infectious structure of the melody and you have what The Will McBride Group creates. The WMG also brings their own fresh interpretations of cover material from jazz, rock, latin, pop, and funk superstars to the mix.

    Bouncing Bulldogs

    The Bouncing Bulldogs Rope Skipping Team is currently comprised of over 100 boys and girls, ranging in age from 5 to 22, from the metropolitan triangle area of Chapel Hill, Durham and Hillsborough, North Carolina. Team members perform more than 400 synchronized tricks and maneuvers using a combination of single and double dutch ropes. Their innovative rope skipping style includes fancy footwork, flips and other acrobatic stunts. The jumpers choreograph their own routines and all team routines to music. The team currently has dozens of national and world championship titles in single rope and double dutch events.
