Full position descriptions can be found below:

Artist Services Assistant

Assist the 140+ visual artists in finding their spots, setting up booths, trouble shooting, booth-sitting during much needed breaks, and delivering their meals to them.

You will either be stationed at the Artist Services Booth or deployed to float around the artist tents, checking in and booth-sitting when required.

Arrival Assistant

Direct artists and vendors as they arrive to set up.

If you are assigned inside festival boundaries: remind artists and vendors that they should unload their vehicle, then go park before setting up their booth.

If you are assigned on festival perimeter: Direct road traffic as instructed by CenterFest staff; check drivers printed parking pass and direct them to designated parking lot.

Gate Greeter

Welcome the public to the festival and encourage donations to support CenterFest and the arts. You will count how many people attend the festival with the help of a tally counter and hand out programs.

Kids Zone

Engage your hands and your heart with the free-spirited creativity of youngsters as they get busy with a variety of arts activities.

Merit Judge Assistant

Assist the CenterFest Merit Judges Saturday morning as they tour the site and judge the 140 visual artists. Handle supplies, place stickers on artist signs, be present to answer any questions or fetch any items the judge needs. Saturday morning into early afternoon.

Parking Lot Attendant

Monitor the entrances to the two CenterFest vendor parking lots.

Performer Gate Attendant

Help check in and direct musical performers as they arrive at their special designated entry. You will be assigned to a CenterFest performing gate and will be given the performance schedule. Assist performers who have a CenterFest performer Parking Pass (examples to be provided) with entering the gate and with unloading light objects.

Volunteers are not expected to perform heavy lifting! Then, provide instructions for performers to park. Guard performer items while performers park cars.

Soda Sales

Serve the festival-goers as they take a break and enjoy a cool drink.

T-Shirt/Info Booth

Provide friendly assistance to people who need it and to give out literature on Durham Arts Council events, classes, etc. Sell CenterFest T-shirts and other items in the t-shirt booth.

Volunteer Booth

Help with check-ins, sign-outs, assignments, and last minute trouble-shooting for the 300 volunteers that make CenterFest happen.
